The Schoolhouse Nursery School and Kindergarten

Old school learning, new school feel!

Mrs. Corris, Mrs. Sheppard, and Mrs. Patrizi 4 year old PM

Happy April PM Friends!

March started off as one big party! We celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday. We had a week of rhyming and opposite fun as we explored many of Dr. Seuss’ books.

March was the perfect month to learn about weather. In like a lion and out like a lamb held true. The weather was crazy this month. We learned about clouds, rain, the sun, rainbows and wind. Ask us to sing you the weather cycle song.

While discussing rainbows we learned about the three primary colors; red, blue and yellow. We used play dough to do a hands-on color mixing experiment which resulted in creating orange, green and purple.

April will be very busy as we begin to practice and prepare for a special presentation in May to honor of our moms. We will also learn about Earth Day and continue to explore things that happen in the Spring.

Handwriting Without Tears (HWT):

This month we will cover the following letters; M,N,V and W.

We now practice writing our names using lowercase letters and listening to letter sounds using the Hooked on Phonics CD.

Count on Math:  Numbers 5-7
