About Us

The Schoolhouse Nursery School and Kindergarten's mission is to ensure a safe and nurturing environment while providing an introduction to the foundations of learning.  These learning experiences serve as the first bridge between home and school.  Our early childhood classrooms are multicultural learning environments where diversity and uniqueness of each child and his/her family is valued.  We welcome all individual learners with a variety of aptitudes and skills.  We offer an outstanding and developmentally-appropriate preschool curriculum for children ages two and a half through six years old.

Drawing from The Creative Curriculum, Count on Math, Learning without Tears, Hooked on Phonics, and the SRA Reading Mastery Program, our rich curriculum areas include language, mathematics, science, art, music, drama, and creative movement.  We facilitate appropriate communication, experiences, care, and respect for other children and our world.

Our classroom resources offer children great variety, and your child is treasured and works individually with teachers in our small class settings.  We strive to offer a preschool experience for the total child to learn in many ways.
